Kronos vs M3

I am new to Korg instruments, and haven't updated my equipment in many years. I have pre-ordered a Kronos 61, and have been watching videos of other Korg instruments to try to get some sense for what will be possible with the Kronos beyond the very similar demos that Korg has been doing. In particular I have been watching some really beautiful demonstrations of the M3. Can anybody compare and contrast the instruments for me? Is the Kronos as capable an instrument? Will the same sounds and combinations be available on the Kronos? I was just watching this video and was blown away by the gorgeous sounds and was hoping the Kronos will include them.

While the M3 is a good synth workstation, you are not going to get the same audio quality, additional functions and expansion synths that come with the KRONOS. For the price difference, the KRONOS is a superior music creation tool. In addition you will have more programs and combinations, including new ones that will match and surpass the M3's. That's my opinion.

Marco Parisi is playing wonderfully. Imagine this with an even better instrument.

You have pre-ordered Kronos already. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Young and talented, true musician.

Thank you all. It's great to know that the Kronos is at least as capable as the M3. And yes, Marco is really a wonderful musician. I enjoyed watching all of his videos.

In terms of sound, that's an epic understatement. The Kronos is not "as capable as the M3" but in fact FAR superior. In terms of on-board sequencer, the M3 is more capable than the Kronos.

This is an AMAZING SOUND! And this is an M3?!

WOW! I am SHOCKED!

Sina
Yes, and now it will be considered as "obsolete", so must be very cheap.

This is coming full circle.

Well. yes, Sina and Akos...

You now realized what you've been missing.

One day you'll maybe afford a M3, and fully understand what a wonderful and totally superior instrument it is.

Until them, you'll have to content yourselves with something slightly similar.

You could try an Oasys

WOW SINA, YOU REALLY SEEM TO LOVE IT!!! MAYBE YOU CAN BUY A DOZEN OF THEM ONCE KRONOS FLOODS THE MARKET!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds a lot like the M3 I got rid of years ago because it sounded kinda like - that demo...

I didn't play endless lullabies on mine, but still it didn't manage to rock my world

ignoring the great playing, what exactly are you hearing with this piano patch that you don't hear on other instruments? Just wondering.

OK I see what you mean. Yeah, it's great when you hear/play something you like!

For me, I do like the SV-1 for the EP. I thought it was a fun keyboard to jam with. I know a few people disagree with me, but I don't know... I love knobs you know?

I just felt it was a musical keyboard.
