External keyboard + sustain pedal?

Post by Jonno »

Hi!

On stage I hook up an external midi controller (an old Roland PC-200) for quick access to extra sounds. The controller has only a midi-out, no pedal inputs and is sending on midi channel 8. On the M50 in SEQ mode I configure a track & program for channel 8.

This all works fine, except... a sustain pedal plugged in to the Damper jack of the M50 works for the M50 keybed, but not for the external controller.

Can I somehow configure the sustain pedal to work on all channels, not only the M50 keybed?

Cheers, - Jon -

I think the sustain pedal works only on the M50s global channel, which is probably set to 1. I don't think there's a way around this to be honest. But I don't actually own an M50, I'm just extrapolating from other Korg OSs. There is a trick for this using Karma but I'm afraid that's only on the M3.
