Samples/Ipods

Post by steroids »

Hey Guys,

I use a few 20 second samples though my M3 (normally i just assign these samples to C1,C#1 and D1 and hold it down when i want it to play.)

Is there anyway to trigger the sample off these keys and have it play to the end WITHOUT holding it down or using a sustain pedal?

also,

I know the M3 has a few 'inputs'. Is there any way to play an Ipod (or similar) through it?

Thanks

1st convert sample into a program
2nd go to the amp section
3rd got to envelope section and turn the release all the way up

You could also place it in a drum kit and have it triggered as a one shot.

don't know about on the M3 but on the Triton series a program had a checkbox (on the same page as legato, mono/poly, etc) called 'hold'. What this did was basically make the note ignore 'note off' commands.

There's no IPOD dock connector on the M3, but there are two 1/4" TS inputs in the sampling section. You'd need an adaptor, 1/8" TRS to 2 1/4" TS plugs, and you'd have to adjust a few things in sampling mode, and then press one of the sampling buttons (just SAMPLE REC), but it would work as a line-in, using the M3 as a mixer.

If you're just using this rigging for a single song, you might try recording the song as a WAV and then you can just play it back on the M3, or put the WAV file in a sequence... there's really a few options you have here.
