Kaossilator PRO & EMX-1

Hello guys! I'm new to the forums but been quite acquainted with the Korg EMX-1. I decided I needed to go a step further, so I got a Kaossilator Pro!! The reason I'm writing this here, is because I see tons of people have the same setup, and it would be really helpful for people like me (who have no idea on how to connect them together, and squeeze all their potential) to see what the best setups are, and how to take advantage of the MIDI and other functionalities.... All answers are appreciated and applied!!!

Here are some of my questions, and things I've tried.

-In the Kaossilator Pro's manual, it says 'literally in a picture' you can connect the EMX-1 to the Kaossilator Pro via MIDI and connect a pair of headphones through the EMX-1... will this give me sound, and MIDI functionalities?

-I've seen in other forums that I would need a mixer so I can route the sound of the 2 devices properly, I have no freaking idea how to do that, or what type of mixer I should get? I've also read using a 1/4'' adapter for the RCA cables is a very bad idea, and will not have the same results sound wise, thoughts?

I guess that's it for right now.... as u can see I'm very confused, if you could point me in the right direction or give me an advice it will be greatly appreciated !!!!

There are two pictures in the manual.
One picture is to route the sound and midi into the KPro from the EMX-1.
That is on page 20 in the latest manual.
There is another picture to use the KPro as a Midi Controller: No sound from the KPro but you can use the pad and knobs to control an EMX-1 or any other MIDI device. This is on Page 22.
I am assuming you are asking for help for page 20.

Simple setup:

ESX-1 Right Output 1/4" TS to RCA -> KPro Right Input
ESX-1 Left Output 1/4" TS to RCA -> KPro Left Input

On the KPro the input selector should be set to "Line" not "Mic"
Also do not forget the "Input Level" on the KPro.

There are also MIDI settings to be considered. Both are explained in the manuals.

You do not need an adapter you just need the correct cable
I am using a a Prolink Monster DJ cable that is stereo 1/4" TS to RCA.
It is well built and clearly marked at both ends.
The model is M DJ-CR-2M it is about US twenty dollars.
I am sure that you can find a more inexpensive cable if you look.

A mixer would be great and always helps for routing sound.
What mixer to get? I do not think that answer can be submitted in a single post.
Although there is an easy way to break it down:
Are you a DJ? Then look at multi-channel DJ mixer.
Are you in a studio mostly? Then look at a more traditional mixer.
Some of the higher end multi-channel DJ mixers would be fine in the studio also.
