DONGLE USELES?

i recall reading something about how the dongle version of legacy is no longer supported. does the korg ilok/dongle that it came with have any use now, or should i just throw it away?

i hate to have out of date stuff lying around my studio.

It is still a generic eLicenser dongle. I have already used to for other software that needed an eLicenser dongle.

that's 100% what i was hoping you'd say. thanks so much for the heads up. i'll see if it works with protools 9.
what other apps use donlges these days? cubase probably... and...

I believe it is a Synchrosoft dongle that was used - not an iLok. The two are different formats and are not interchangable.
Cubase uses Synchrosoft dongles and Steinberg has in fact bought out the company. I think this is part of the reason why Korg moved away from the dongle, apparently it is impossible to get support from Steinberg for them, or something like that...

Yes, and Synchrosoft were bought by Cubase (which renamed it to eLicenser), and as Steinberg is owned by Yamaha, Korg licensing was in fact in the hands of a direct competitor...
