MR-1000 Disk Full Error

Post by MikeRivers »

My MR-1000 seems to be able to use only about half of its 40 GB disk capacity. There's about 19 GB worth of files on it. Windows "My Computer" shows that it's about half full, and the file sizes total up to about that. After recording for about half an hour, it stopped recording with the "Disk Full" message shown on the display.

This happened to me when recording a concert so I dumped a couple of old projects and continued on. Back home, I checked it out and it's repeatable.

I'm running Version 1.6.1 which I believe is the latest version. I've had it for a few years and I don't know if this is a new problem or it's always been like this. I've never been concerned about how full the drive is since it's always showed plenty of space. Device Info shows 37.2 GB, with 1 MB free. 21 projects, most with only one or two WAV files

I suppose I'll have to call Tech Support next week, but just wondered if anyone else is running with a disk about half full. Nothing here that isn't backed up so I could re-format, but I'd like to know if this is a new bug, an old bug, or there's something wrong with my machine before I do anything further.

I suppose I should have posted a follow-up.

I reformatted the drive using the menu as suggested by Korg Tech Support and that returned it to showing the full capacity. I tested it by recording about 30 GB of junk on it and it continued to show space available so it seems to be OK now.
