One of the 4 parameter knobs on my R3 is not hitting its full bottom range. Usually I don't mess with the knobs on the R3 a whole lot as its being used primarily as a MIDI controller right now until my new keyboard gets here but the one knob that gets used is the first parameter knob which changes the MIDI Channel on page 42 of the Menu and it is the one that is broken. When I turn the pot all the way down it only hits MIDI channel 2, not 1, if I fiddle with it i can get it momentarily to hit one but it will always revert back to 2 on its own. This is a major issue as I need to be on channel 1 to use the editor software.

Is there another way to change the MIDI channel on the R3? Also how hard is it to replace pots on the R3? Down the road I will definitely want to fix it for when it becomes more active as a stand alone synth, once I get my new controller.

Other people including myself have had this problem before - I found that taking the R3 apart and giving all the pots a good squirt of contact cleaner did the trick - I did this procedure twice and it has been ok for about a year so far.....[touch wood] Replacing the pots is relatively straightforward if you can handle a soldering iron, the R3 is reasonably easy to take apart - the only trouble you might have is finding the right replacement pots - I was going to replace the mod wheel one but couldn't find a 100% match for it anywhere, so managed to repair it instead.

I had the same issue and I did the same thing - took it apart and I've cleaned them all - better then when it was new.

Hello all. I have the same issue, but i hardly know the inner workings of a keyboard, and i dont have access to a soldering iron. I'm a little scared to take apart my r3 because i dont want to mess anything up. Is there another way to do this?
