Kronos Power Supply not auto switching?
Posted: Wed Jun 15, 2011 12:10 pm
I just got my Kronos and it says 120v. Nothing about it being 110-220. Please tell me this is a joke and it auto switches? We are not in 1995 anymore...

The transformer is inside the Kronos already - so that is why you have DC in and not a wall wart. I bet that the people at Sound on Sound will be able to tell you if they had any problems with their preview instrument they had when they reviewed the Kronos a couple of months back.spritz76 wrote:That was my point in the thread over there. Are you going to try and potentially fry your Kronos and invalide the warranty?
IMHO, much better to buy a transformer until someone else makes the leap of faith
Ask the people you bought it from, not Korg.de - we all know why...sparkie wrote:I would first see if the manual has any info..and then email your customer support and ask them. info at korgmore.de
and do you use a voltage transformer to operate the one from USA ?jahrome wrote:I purchased Kronos from both a Japanese and American dealer. The Japanese model indicates 100~ and the American one 120~.
What does the "~" represent?
I think it means the input power shoud be 100 volts ALTERNATING current. DIRECT current is normally shown as --jahrome wrote:I purchased Kronos from both a Japanese and American dealer. The Japanese model indicates 100~ and the American one 120~.

American devices in Japan normally work ok. Japanese products products rated at 100V "may" be ok in the US. I have used many Japanese products in the US. But some of them generate more heat than others. These items I used a cheap step down transformer.RC-IA wrote:and do you use a voltage transformer to operate the one from USA ?jahrome wrote:I purchased Kronos from both a Japanese and American dealer.
