KRONOS RAM UPGRADE 2Go to 4 Go

Hi all,
Today, I've decided to add 2 Go of memory to my new K61
In fact : 2Go >>> 4Go = 3.25 GB (see img bellow) (32bits limitation)
When I load all options, I have 1124 Mo of free RAM
I Have used : Corsair 4 Go (Kit 2x2Go) DDR2-SDRAM PC6400 5-5-5-18 - TWIN2X4096-6400C5C G
Sorry for the mistake : I have ommited the 'C' after ...6400C5

Could you report if the additional memory is really useable for samples (no internal 2 GB OS limitation) after some testing?
If it's that easy I don't see why not to upgrade after some time, just to be sure not to run into imminent guarantee issues in the first half year or so.

Woah, NO OS UPDATE NEEDED?
Well, except perhaps memory physical address extensions (PAE) could be added so that you could fully utilize all 4 GB of memory.
It's a ridiculous and fake limitation. How come 16-bit computers were able to address and use more than 2^16 bits of memory, then? 386 could address up to 16 MB of RAM, whereas 2^16 gives you 65 KB! The same thing should be possible on 32-bit systems (and lo and behold, 32-bit Vista and Windows 7 see and support all 4 GB of memory, not 3.25).

Yes it's really useable...
I can't wait any more : I need more memory ...

....
No update needed
This machine is incredible, really expandable ...
My next expansion : 1xSSD...
I have a certain experience with 2xOASYS + 5xM3

The Kronos is simply a small computer with an OS and 9 soft synths.
A larger and faster SSD should work.
An Intel ITX motherboard with a faster CPU could work.
Someone should try an ITX board with an i7 processor. Then, the Kronos's polyphony could approach 1,000.

Kinda, but not entirely. It's much more like an embedded system which happens to use an Intel CPU as the DSP. Under the hood, things are tied together much more tightly than a simple collection of 9 software synthesizers.
See "Developing the OASYS Engine" on the page below for some comments on voice allocation in particular:

This won't work.
Anyways, would be nice to have an OS update that will enable Kronos to see and use all 4 GB of RAM, without the stupid 3.25 limitation.

This is proof that PEOPLE WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED.... they say it would only be able to read 2 gb... someone figures out a way to get it to read 3.25 gb and FOLKS STILL WANT MORE!!!!!
I for one (if I was korg or any other product manufacturer) would stop listening to people that respond like that. Products HAVE limitations. Believe it or not. If companies spent time trying to overcome EVERY limitation, we'd never have products to COMPLAIN ABOUT AND NEVER BE SATISFIED WITH...."

Well of course. If I put 4 GB in Kronos, I would want to use ALL 4 GB that are in there, NOT A MEGABYTE LESS.
That doesn't make sense to you?

On the French forums we have the same type of post

Personnally : I bought a Korg Synth because firstly, I Love the KORG SOUNDS, secondly because I love the Quality and the Ergonomie of the instrument and finally because I love the KARMA and the OS of the OASYS & the KRONOS... I have a total trust on KORG products from 31 years.
I hope a long life for the KRONOS....

The speedometer of my car indicates 300 km/h and I will never get to use it
