Hey people, Radias fans...

As we all know the Radias is a complete beast! Just want to know if its possible to sequence it externallly and assign 16 midi channels to it so I can choose any of up to 16 phat Radias patches, like for example its possible to do with a Yamaha Motif in "mixer" mode. Thanks for any input in advance. well im learning everyday, but if anyone wants to hear some of my tracks made with a Radias, you can look me up on soundcloud dot com slash muzixco thanks again people.

No you can't.

You only have the 24 voice polyphony split over 4 timbres in one program.

However you can assign each timbre to a different MIDI channel. And from there you can copy timbres from other programs. Particularly a lot of the basic sounds will only be one or if you're unlucky then 2 timbres.

The way the Radias is currently engineered, it would be impossible to for it to play 16 different programs or even timbres at once, because of the FX section. Effects are generally fixed in a DSP core (or more than one) so they are a finite resource. It couldn't just 'make more'. And as each timbre 'owns' two IFX and each program 'owns' the one MFX...

So anyway, at least that's up to four MIDI channels of multitimbrality.

Thanks X-Trade

I appreciate the fast response and shedding light on this subject, 4 midi channels are better than 1, which is all I was using mostly to sequence the drum kits in the Radias, which are very good by the way. Take care and keep up the good work in this great forum!
