D888 echo always 3/4 to the left

Post by rudisimmons »

I've just bought a second hand d888, and I've noticed that all the echo effects tend to play back the echo way over in the left side in the mix, no matter where I pan my track.

Does anyone else with this unit experience this?

Reverbs seem good and wide in the stereo image, but echoes always play like they are panned around 9-10 o'clock.

Annoying...

Any feedback would be appreciated

Could someone with this unit please tell me if their echo-effects are stereo or centered so I know mine is weird?

I just got one this week and started playing with it. I noticed some weirdness with the echo also but haven't characterized it yet. So you may be right. It's not steerable, that's for sure. You can't decide where the echo comes from, only the amount.
