I'm trying to replicate this plucking sound

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zK1mLIeXwsQ

I came close on microkorg- but have failed to make a very good one on the r3.

but it appears the r3 could do it alot better...

I think the sound consists of a few saw waves that are detuned very slightly

but the filter for the pluck, hasn't been doing me any favors.

If anyones up to it, give it your best shot- I need a good polysynth sound-

i'll post my attempt later

See if that's what you are looking for.

It's all about taking a saw, putting a closed LPF on it, then modulating it with an envelope that has no sustain and a short decay. You can also fool around with the amp envelope, making the sustain 80-90% and the decay the same as the filter envelope's, for extra pluckiness.

From there, it's about fooling around with the resonance, drive, and EQ to get the right tone.

Finally, a high-muted delay and high-muted reverb finish it all off.

man that was the best pluck i've ever heard, it sounds EXACT... and you did that with one timbre... damn- your good. I made a pluck that is more bassy but this pluck will accompany it very nicely.

btw, just wondering, what do you do for a living? you seem quite pro at replicating sounds that I can't process through my head. I dont want to be rude or needy or anything, but could I ask you to try another one? lol cause your awesome man.

Thanks for the praise, but I'm honestly nowhere near as good as some other sound designers. It just so happened that that specific pluck is used in many songs so I knew how to create it.

As for what I do for a living, I attend high school. XD

What's the other sound you're after? Message me.

You've improved a lot since you joined the forum, so I think the praise is justified. Kudos. Keep at it. Don't be surprised if you start dreaming that you're flying through the synth architecture... :D
