?? smaller cheaper lighter (dumber) Jupe ??

Competition/compliment for Kronos?

A stage board full of the J80's "signature" solo performance emulations? Wouldn't that be nice.

We'll see.

Stopped using Rolandclan - seems to be too many whiners over there.

Shame, as a good source of info (especially for my V-Synthxt)

There's a difference between whining and pointing out fact. :p
My comment lies in the latter camp rather than former!

Now, stop whining about my post!! Lol!

What if they made a Jupiter 90 with knobs, sync, and controllers along with sampling?

Very cool!

The technical paper they wrote on SN makes it clear that SN will be the basis for their future products. I have no doubt their next workstation will incorporate many elements of the Jupiter.

Isn't that what the JP80 is for? (even if it isn't a pure WS).

Or you guys think that they will still put out a WS and the JP80 is new category of instruments from them?

I do think they will eventually release a new workstation. They have marketed JP80 as performance keyboard....which it is.....although it could just as easily, as the product name might imply, be categorized as a VA synth. Either way.....its not a work station, and not really a new category of keyboard. They've had performance keyboards before. They've had VA synths before. JP80 is one or both of those.....but its clearly NOT a workstation.

Either they are going to continue the Fantom G, and update it in some way...or there is some new WS coming at some point in time.

Could it be on the 15th....I doubt it...but you never know.
