Emx + Monotribe = true?

Hi!
I've been searching around almost everywhere to find an answer but no...
My question is how do you connect the Monotribe to the Emx (and using the Emx as a master) when the mono is lacking midi in?
What type of cable do you require, from what connection on the Emx do you hook to the Mono?
And after I've got the two synced with eachother, is it possible to connect the Mono (using another connection) with a synthpart on the Emx (it would be so cool!), or due to the lack of true midi, do I have to connect it separately with a mixer?
Many questions, but I really love these two beasts and it must be possible to make them work together!

i use an esx-1, but i guess it's the same process on the emx-1.
you set up a kick on one of your tracks of the electribe & route it to the individual out.
connect your individual out with the sync in of the monotribe.
press play on the monotribe & it will play in sync, according to this kick signal from your electribe.
you have to adjust / eq the kick so that you get a good stable sync with the monotribe.
you can then route the audio out of you monotribe back into the emx-1.
it is discussed here:

That is so awesome!
Thank you so much!
I suddenly have a mini ms-20 (sort of, it only has 8 steps) as a synthpart on my emx!
Much appreciated!

What beat placement would you suggest to use when doing this?
I've tried placing a kick on just step 1 - each step - each alternate step - and 1,5,9,13. Although the results have been interesting, it doesn't seem "synchronised" so much as just triggered to blurt out the entire 8 step pattern
very quickly with each pulse regardless of the tempo I'm using.

hello zululord,
i placed a kick on every 2nd step (1, 3, 5,... ), & then you really have to EQ it, so that it works good. If not, the monotribe will react strange, for example it will not play every step.
but i have to admit, that i don't use this method anymoe.
i installed MIDI into my monotribe, as described here:

it's working really good.
the electribe & the monotribe stay perfectly in sync.
furthermore you can also use the keys on the electribe to play the notes on the monotribe, or program a sequence on the electribe, which is played on the monotribe.
or you can record the sequence as usual on the monotribe itself.

Thanks, I'll play around with the EQ and see how I go. I don't think I'm quite ready to try adding midi to it yet
