How to record on the fly ??

A very simple question (I really hate Pa1 manual...)
I had Pa1xpro several years ago and I remember that you can record a performance on the fly, for example starting with a style and singing on...
Now I've bought again tha Pa1xpro but I can't find the way to do it...
If I press "record" in style mode the display shows "Style/Pad Record"
I know it was very simple but I'm getting lost and don't find anything on the manual, anyone can help ??
Thanks!

From the manual, page 410:
To enter recording, keep the SHIFT button pressed, and press the REC button.

Thanks, Admar but the manual in my hands has only 360 pages....
Moreover I've tried to push shift and thence record but it doesnt work.....
Just to be clear: I go on style mode and press first shift and thence record.... where am I wrong???

Hi Admar,
I just had a look at p.410 and I think the 'shift+record' applies only if you have the mp3 board installed. I could be wrong there, though.
Hi keyboardmadness,
Your manual must be an earlier version. I think you can still download the latest version from KorgPA.

Hi Giner,
I downloaded the latest issue but don't seem to find the way how to do it...
But the very strange thing is I'm sure that I did it when I owned my previous PA1Xpro, now I0m getting crazy.....

CORRECT !!!
So, if you do not have the MP3 board installed, you cannot do it.
If you do have the MP3 board, then page 410 has complete recording instructions - this is in the latest manual from Korg "
Pa1X-252F-ENG.pdf"

Hi Pete
Are you sure I can't do it ?
On my previous Pa1xpro. (approx 5 years ago..) I'm sure I did it!!
We were at a birthday with some friends, we made "karaoke" and I remember I recorded some of them while singing and soon after i let them ear their performances!!!
The only thing I remember is that display was showing "take 1" and I did not own an mp3 board!!!
Unless Korg modified this option after 2006. (maybe to sell more mp3 board???)

Positive

It HAD to have an MP3 board installed.

If you managed to save Take 1 as an MP3 then there was DEFINITELY an MP3 board installed - without it, you cannot record MP3s
The PA1XPro Elite model had the MP3 and the useless CD drive, otherwise these were options you had to buy.

Hi Pete,
what should I say ? As far as I remember it wasnt an "Elite" one , and the recording was made on the hard disk... but maybe I was not aware of the Mp3 board....(I've bought that one used...) therefore there is no way to record while performing....

That must have been the case - you were lucky to have got one with the MP3 board installed.
therefore there is no way to record while performing....
Correct - you will need the MP3 board or an external recording device.

that is correct Jim but as far as i am aware you cant record style volume changes on the fly so you cant for example use sliders to fade out strings or guitars etc whilst recodring live in backing sequence mode. you cant mute individual tracks either so you have to record everty thing at the preset stage and then edit it later. You have to press the multi track record button and then record the volume changes or mute tracks etc through that method. Your solution is a partial one though.
The PA1X is still in my book the best arrranger on the planet

I think keyboard madness wanted audio recording (voice and keyboard).
Hi pete,,QUICK RECORD,1.in style play mode, set set up your song
Yes - at least he can get a MIDI sequence this way but no vocals.
The Backing Sequencer will often change your "initial settings" for your song - it is not quite as nice as the MP3 recording feature.
