Bizarre thing happened!

Dear All,

Something bizarre happened to my Trinity Pro X last night.

I moved it from my house to the rehearsal room where I rehearse with my band (it's about a 15 minute drive away from my house). Upon switching it on in the rehearsal room, it became apparent that all of the Cs and all of the F sharps on the Trinity were not working. We tried it in different amps. We tried transposing it. We tried switching off and on again. It was bizarre!

Then, after about two hours, I was playing away and became aware that the Cs and F sharps were working again. I have no idea why they stopped working for those two hours and I have no idea what made them start working again.

Does anyone have any insight as to why this may have happened? It's disturbing because it would be a nightmare if this were to happen just before or during a gig.

Many thanks

Hound

I'm not an electrician but I'm sure it is a loose cable. Probably cables are connected in such a way that one cable 'transports' a certain set of keys which are possibly not next to each other (like C / F keys in your case).

Since the problem vanishes by itself, I could imagine it comes back again.
Therefor, it is best to open the case, and reconnect all cables again, probably you will find one loose one. Or maybe a bit of dust is inside the connection point so if you open it, I suggest cleaning everything as well.

Half the work is unscrewing all screws anyway.

Yeah, my vote would be a lightly corroded or loose connector, too...
