So now that we have all these new banks to play with, I finally got around to loading a lot of the freebee banks and patches available. I was waiting for this, because I'm a "patch pack rat." I'm really erratic in what I want and like to have everything available all the time.

I am absolutely blown away at these Korg MOD7 preset banks - A lot of these presets have completely negated the want/need for my FM8 - The bank with the extra AL1 patches is great, too.

I now feel like what I did not too long after I picked up the Fusion - when Hollow Sun and KPR were releasing tons of freebie sound banks, giving me almost unlimited sonic capabilities.

All of the other patches are great, too. I can't wait to complete a bank of my own so that I may contribute I already have some VA sounds (and associated Combis) from some work I did a bit back for a contemporary pop band. I figure someone could use some of those sounds.

What color were you before buying the Kronos?

www.korgpatches.com is where I gathered all mine, but I know there are a lot here at the root of this site.

I got my Kronos last Wednesday, the day OS 1.5.0 was released. I loaded it up the next day and then went to Korg Patches and loaded all the pcgs that said they were programed/provided by Korg. They filled all the extra 7 banks. They are very good however and were really needed to supplement the pre-loaded pcgs.

At some point I will go through all 21 banks and remove those I will never use to make space for the ones I need to program myself.

I hope when the editor is released, it will facilitate the capability to make a more personal preference structured program banks. This makes it a lot easier to audition sounds when voicing sequences.

Currently the only way is to use categories and subcategories or the favorite setting. However, with PCG Tools it is quite easy to rearrange your own banks.

Hi Michel, I know you have been asked this and I'm not even sure if the Korg Editor will do this,
but any chance you are considering a Mac version of your software?

I don't want to speak for Michel, but he and I had a conversation about this - he's developing it using .NET4. There are certain bits of that have been implemented in the Mono (open source implementation of .net) project. I was taking a look at the source code to check the feasibility of doing a Linux port - if I could get that, a mac port would be trivial - as the Mono libraries are the same on both platforms. Unfortunately though, there are several pieces (like WPF) that have no real Mono equivilent, so there are a few limitations (at least without a substantial rewrite).

I don't have a whole lot of free time these days, but this definitely is something that I'm interested in doing eventually.

I've made several attempts to get it working properly inside Wine, but have had limited success. For now, your best bet would be to run it in a Virtual machine (that's what I've been doing).
