Sent mine in about a month ago. I contacted Korg about a week after I sent it in to verify that they received it. The response I got was "We use a third party company for rebate fulfillments. Rebates take approximately 6-8 weeks to fulfill."

Coming up on 10 weeks and no sign of my rebate that was supposed to take "6-8 weeks to fulfill". Anyone else having better luck? I wrote Korg customer service to see if they could give me any info. I got an auto generated response saying a rep would get back to me within 72 hours. That was 2 weeks ago. Still waiting.

Received my rebate yesterday (Jan. 14, 2012). Purchased it mid-November.

I called twice since November. The second time around a nice lady called me back and said it was in the mail. She said they were short staffed.
I understand that a rebate is supposed to be a pain, but taking longer than the time frame printed on the rebate form is really, really bad service.
I like the SV1 for what it is, but I can't say I like Korg in general.

Just wondered Why Korg offer the rebate after purchase, would it have not been easier to instruct dealers to minus the rebate value off the new Price at point of purchase??

That would defeat the whole point of it being a rebate instead of a discount. With a rebate a seller is hoping a few people won't take the time to go through the hassle of filling out and mailing the paperwork. So they make a little more on a few of them.
That's why I say its understandable that it all be a pain. However I think a company should be legally held to the date printed on the form.

Got my rebate check right about 8 weeks after mailing it in. The check appears to have cleared and all is well. Lovin' the keyboard, just wish it wasn't treated like such a red haired stepchild by the Mothership.

My rebate experience was a nightmare. I purchased my SV the first week of Nov. last year. Got my rebate finally this March. That's 4 MONTHS! I was told after 2 months that there was no record of my initial rebate. Sent in another one, certified mail, in January. Was then told it would be treated as a new rebate and would be an additional 8 weeks. Still took about 10 weeks from the second rebate form I sent in. Maybe it's time to reacquaint myself with Roland.

Afaik the rebates are handled by a 3rd party company. That is common practise.
