Copying Samples onto an SD ON A MAC

Can anyone simply confirm that this works? I have a ESX1 SD, a 3gb card,
I have formatted on the ESX, and its possible to save samples to it FROM the ESX. I can put the card into the built in card reader on my MacBookPro, and take that sample.. But cannot drop ANYTHING onto the card.
I get a no entry icon. If I "Get Info" on the card, it says READ ONLY..
Anyone know why?

On the side of the SD card there is a small switch. Its easily moved, and could have switched to 'protect' mode.....

Also i discovered my universal usb card reader wouldnt work with SDHC cards. I got a new reader and all was fine. Might be worth checking for driver updates.

Other than that i have no clue as i dont own a mac!

Thanks for the suggestions

I tried that.. both ways

Not really an issue on a mac, and anyway I know my reader works with these cards cos I am a film-maker and use them all the time...

Im more worried that there may be an all round mac problem..

So.. any mac users out there?

There are certain FS versions that OSX can't write to, but can read. I thought this was limited to NTFS.

Anyway, it may be worth using the Mac's Disk Utility (under Applications > Utilities) and formatting the card with FAT that way, see if you can write to it and the if the ESX can read it.

I think you may be on to something here, as I tried to format using Disk Utility, and although it could SEE the disk, could NOT format it. This I have never seen before... I will try a different disk...

DOes anyone know where I can find the EXACT spec for the correct disks, so I can print it and take it to the shop with me?

Erm, I'm running a MBP on 10.5.something and had no issues with read/writing to two SDHC cards for my ESX/EMX with a cheap multi card reader.

I formated both cards with respective tribe and plugged them into card reader. Worked without a hitch. Just dragged and dropped some new sample sets from Sauce and eveything worked just fine.

Hope you get it sorted out.

Ohh, and I think any SD or SDHC card will do the trick as far as spec. I bought 4Gb ones because they came in a two pack for like $11.

Origonally I bought one for the ESX and the other was for a KOPRO. The Kaoss pads can only do SD not the SDHC. So the extra card went to the EMX.

Then to remedy the Kaoss problem, I got another two pack of 2Gb SD cards for the KOPRO and KP3. \:D/

OK Ill just post the solution here, to round this off...!

It was the mac SD card reader, they seem to be a bit dodgy and I got a cheap usb reader and all cards worked no problem..

silly really!
