9 minutes pa3x start up!

That is very long time! I have fully used 128 mb compressed samples (256 uncompressed) and pa3x takes 9 minutes to load OS and samples!

That's is not acceptable. I have bought exb256,and installed ,and story is the same... EG,if I put all 256 MB of compressed samples pa3x will start about 20 minutes????
Korg ,you did not do anything about it... Sample battery is only a mask cover... Pa3x is take a very long time to boot when you have lot of samples and that is a fact.
P.S. Not to mention that EXB M256 cost 200 euro in Serbia... Robbery.

256 Mb User samples plus OPS need more than 5 minutes for initial loading.
To avoid Ram pre-loading every time Pa3X is turned on a St-By battery is added to retain Ram data , as commonly known.
Therefore if you exceed 4 minutes loading one of the bellow must occur :
- In Ram socket St-By switch is turned off.
- AC cable was disconnected for more than 3 days and ST-BY battery is fully discharged.
- Battery is destroyed and needs replacement (check battery's state)
If all above are in order then data can be hardly red from internal SSD
caused by heavy fragmentation or sector errors and you need technical support.
PS my personal set is 500 Mb compressed and loading time is always less
than 3 minutes and concern only OPS , so there's no Pa3X issue.

I have carefully installed exb 256 today,so standby switch is OK...I am playing keyboard every day,so 3 day without of power is out of option...Only thing that could be is ssd or battery issue...but my pa3x is only 4 months old... :O what to expect in future??

Can somebody else post your experience about pa3x start-up time with samples?
Something is not right... How to check to be sure is battery in my pa3x dead or system ssd?
My last (today's) measurement is 5 minutes and 35 seconds from pushing "standby" to operational state . I have about 120 mb compressed samples ~ 240mb uncompressed
But when I started this topic my measurement was 9 minutes.
Here is the current state of my pa3x battery :
INCORRECT PICTURE REMOVED BY ADMIN (at Vex's request)
and standby led is not blinking - so ,there is no charging???

The simple method to find what is going on is after saving your set
to delete all sample data from Record and restart Pa3X without samples.
Loading time must be about 2 minutes.
Click Battery Wipe button (OPS 1.11 feature) to completely discharge the PCM-memory
backup battery,(required after replacing the battery pack or installing the
PCM Sample memory expansion).
Errors might have saved to Ram and this method will eliminate that case.
The method for manual recover of internal SSD from un-recovered data or errors
is System Reset 1.11 for more details go to KorgPa.com.
My suggestion is to Read again the topic
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=65289
clean your SSD with my described method and save your clean setup.ALL
Then follow procedure of System Reset ,reload full resources 1.11 in Pa3X
and as last load your saved clean setup.ALL
If all above fail to regain less than 3 min loading, you probably face hardware
issue and must refer to authorized service.

Thank you for replying! I already tried to start without samples and pa3 started after one (1) minute! ....from recent time I have loaded drum loops ,and that is the problem maybe? before that loops I had about 3600 samples in Ram...now I have about 6050 samples... Ok...I will read your procedure ,and will see what can I do...

I discovered that loaded samples have nothing with my boot problem.
...and most important is that I also discovered that when I delete all User1-2-3-4-DK .PCG from KORG SYSTEM boot time of the keyboard is normal !!!! (with earlier described amount of samples boot time for my pa3x is NOW 2 minutes and 10 seconds!! ,which is acceptable)
So,some of the PCG files have bug inside!

2 minutes and 10 seconds is surely acceptable !
Glad to hear that issue is solved.

Yes,it is acceptable, but I don't know yet which PCG makes problem.

Has anyone tried to merge several time sliced loops in several oscilators in same (one) program? I thing that korg gone crazy when you do that and that is the reason for slow boot...(that is a problem with PCG files) It is very good solution to do that way with loops instead "one time sliced loop=one program"...but we have to pay through slow boot...everything except that is ok.
If this is some kind of a bug,KORG please check and repair this.

My PA3X is a week old, I installed the same 256Mb card used in PA2X, loaded the same SET from the PA2X: loading time was 9min.
Compressed: 9min.
Cleaned as per all the means explained: 9min.
If the battery pack is there to keep the RAM under voltage therefore eliminating the RAM loading time, it should not matter if the set is 0Mb or 512Mb, samples should be ready any moment. STANDBY says it, it should stand by and not WAIT.
Has anybody loaded 256Mb (compressed or not) and had 2-4 minutes of loading time. Please advise?

I just deleted 2 drum sets, without deleting their samples nor their MultiSamples, and the loading time went down to 8:06 min. I think the distribution of samples (layers) is the problem and not the samples themselves.

Basically the STANDBY is not exactly what it should be!

Read all advised topics.
My set is 500 Mb compressed and loading time is under 3 minutes but setup
was built in Pa3X !
First of all compression raises loading time because ram must be red with
compression algorithm and an important issue is the actual compatibility
with Pa2X-Pa800 PCGs though Korg claims !
The only fact I can confirm is that a Set completely build in Pa3X , can never face loading delay time.

Hi Antony,
Thanks for your input. What do you mean by ''setup was built on the PA3X'', do I have to recreate my PA2X set on the 3X from scratch, by exporting the samples from 2X one by one and than importing them on the 3X?
Please advise,
Thanks in advance!
