best guess (although it's a bit of a "sledgehammer to crack a walnut!) is to use the system restore disks.
Depends on how different the settings are to the original set up.

Thanks..but I think there is other way instead of using the restore disk!

That works for shure. If you load the preload.pcg, all programs, combis and global settings are restored to factory settings.

And since the global info also contains the settings for loading the samples probably the waveform loading will also be set to default.

Ahh - sorry: thought the preload.pcg WAS the factory restore disk...

The preload.pcg probably can be found on the factory DVD's, but it's also already on the SSD in the Kronos. It contains the factory default programs, combi's and global data.
The factory DVD's also contain the original operating system.

Is preload.pcg the one that is autoloaded everytime during boot? If thats the case isn't it where all the global settings are saved already by the "user"? Or perhaps im confusing it with some other preload pcg?

No preload is not what is loaded automatically ... NO PCG is loaded automatically since it is already in the synth (well actually it might be stored somewhere on the SSD but not in a user file).

Jon I believe you are right. I don't think reloading the
Preload PCG overwrites the user Global settings.
Edit:
Default, I meant Preload

It depends to what is stored inside the PCG!

Try to save a PCG - there you can chose if you just want to save a single user bank (or combination) or all of them, global settings, set lists, etc.

He wasn't talking about his user PCG. He is talking about the 'Default" PCG.

Yes. The Kronos Operation Guide has a special ONE PAGE which describes exactly how to do this. See "Restoring the factory settings" on page 265 (English version 4). As described in the manual the easiest way is to load the "Preload.pcg" which is a file in the protected Factory folder (\Factory\Preload.pcg). As described you also have to clear RAM and EXs.
The Kronos has "internal memory" (Korg specific term) which stores pcg data (Program-Combination-Global) [which does NOT include multisamples]. Any time you edit a program, global setting, etc. then perform a "write to internal memory" operation, you are editing the internal memory. The internal memory is (behind the scenes) stored by the Operating System so it is available the next time you power up. This is identical in concept to other Korg workstations.
Note the "internal memory" and the "preload.pcg" file are different things. When the Kronos is powered up "internal memory" data is sitting there available to be used, while "preload.pcg" is a data file sitting inactive on the Kronos hard drive.
The "preload.pcg" file is a backup copy of the .pcg data that Korg loads on the Kronos when it is shipped from the factory.
If you make any modifications/additions to the Kronos Programs, Combis or Global data those modifications will be stored in internal memory, and will therefore be available the next time you power up. However, you might want to consider using the "Save .pcg data" command to save that internal memory data to a file so you can recover it if you ever need to.
As an example suppose you purchase one of the EXs add-ons like "KRS04 -- Pro Splits and Layers" which is a set of 128 Combinations. These are NOT in the "preload.pcg" data file. When you first load KRS04, the combi data is written to the internal memory. However, if something got mistakenly overwritten in the future (e.g. you load a .pcg file you downloaded somewhere to get some new sounds), to get back to this new state you would need to (1) load preload.pcg, (2) load KRS-04 Combis. If you created your own .pcg file (e.g. mydata.pcg) after KRS-04 was loaded, then you would only need to re-load "mydata.pcg" if you needed to recover.
