Fixed Velocity and Global Channel Issues in COMBI Mode

Post by perotinus »

Korg, please do somthing with it!!!

I have written about my problems in case of M3 something around year ago... Now I have Kronos and nothing has changed.

1) In COMBI mode, there should be an option to set fixed velocity for any Timbre. I need many programs to play on constant, fixed velocity level all the time. I don't want to edit Programs first! I want to go to Combi, load Piano program into say Timbre 01, set fixed velocity to 100 and no matter how hard I then play get velocity always at 100. This option should be inside Workstation like Kronos and M3!!!

2) I use Kronos as Master Midi Keyboard. When I set Timbre 03 to EXT (channel 3), Kronos is sending messages on channel 3 but also on global channel (set to 01 in my instrument). Please! Give us option to switch off global channel in Combi mode. Now I can't use multitimbral Slaved synth because Kronos (and M3) sends MIDI messages always on 2 channels! (channel that is set to EXT and also on global channel).

Please... Fix it. MIDI is 16 channels interface and I need to use all of them in isolation!

Take care,
Perotinus.

With Tone Adjust you can change the velocity sensitivity per timbre, you cannot set it to a specific value as far as I know, but you can more or less set it to a constant value and then the volume can be set the the required value. This can be done on the M3 too as far as I know.

OK, first thank you very much for help, but I knew about it. I use Korg and Kurzweil since I can remember. Every Kurzweil's synth has option called Velocity Scale/Velocity Offset on Velocity page in System. This let me set fixed velocity in wink of an eye for every Timbre (Zone) in Combi (Setup) mode. Well... I wonder how is it possible that such a great company like KORG didn't implement it for so many years?

I'll write what I've written a year ago... If KORG will update system and we could then in Combi Mode 1) set fixed velocity 2) send MIDI information in isolation via channels (to the other Midi equipment we have)...

...Machines like KRONOS/M3 will become true studio and live EMPERORs.

I'm Pro, I know what I'm sayin' ;)

Take care guys,
Perotinus.

ps. sorry for a bit late answer. I was gigging.
