So, it was mentioned elsewhere that the Kronos editor was predicted sometime in March (back at NAMM). When do you REALLY think it's going to appear? And will we be pleasantly surprised by features or functionality we weren't expecting?

Oh god another thread re the Editor!!! rob this is a rolling saga. The last information we have is March, It's been quiet somewhat on posts re the editor, and I'm sure Korg will be pleased, until now. Here we go again!!

I surely hope like everyone else, (check out all of the other subjects here on this matter), that Korg releases the Editor in March. We have all backed off and given them the peace to do it, now they have to deliver

Maybe Korg themselves even not know. I know some people like to have it, on the other hand, you don't NEED an editor to use the Kronos.

Perhaps they are rewriting the dud Driver for Korg Microkey first??? I had to revert to an old driver to make it play with windows 7/64

Well, if Korg don't like it, there's one way to fix that....

I was hoping to bring a little levity to this. I guess I was successful, since 20% of the replies at this point are indicating there will be no editor.

I also find it amusing that no one thinks there's a chance in heck of getting it in February.

I am certainly looking forward to the editor, but being a software developer myself am very familiar with problems that can suddenly come up and it takes much longer to deliver than originally expected - even when you try to account for such things.

It's a year nearly .... epic failure by Korg.

An epic failure would be if the editor would be published before the Kronos would come out and the kronos would be delayed for over a year.

I'm totally happy with the Kronos but I can imagine some people like to use the editor for sequencing reasons and a bit easier editing.

I'm not a full time developer (although I have done short small team dev projects in the past), but as someone who has worked major IT projects (some a LOT bigger than this editor) for the last 10 years, I completely agree.

Stuff happens and software development isn't magic. There are only so many ditch diggers who can dig the same hole at the same time. When they run into issues or requirements change, it can add weeks or months to the development cycles, and the testing phases even more.

There should be two more choices:

"Just soon as Korg has it ready."

and

”Korg will hold it back as long as possible just to irritate people on this board."

I vote for the "Just soon as Korg has it ready."

The "Mythical Man Month" has this pretty well covered. Essentially it states that it is a myth that you can just throw more resources at a project in order to bring its delivery forward.

I wouldn't be surprided if there's one or two guys at Korg working on the editor at most, and it would be naive to assume that it's simply a matter of getting more programmers on board (although it would be nice to believe that!).
