how to write/store pads in songbook

Post by a.schemkes »

Pa2Xpro still drives me crazy with his file system.

I use songbook all the time just to recall my upper lower sounds (aka performance) for playing in a live band. So no styles.

Now i want to recall the right pads with the right performance. How do i do that. Are the pads stored to a style first? So do i have to recall the style and thus get the right pads, or is there another way?

Please any suggestions would be appreciated. (is Rob Sheratt still here?)

The user manual says: In addition to helping you organizing your shows, the SongBook allows you to associate up to four Pads, and up to four STSs to each Standard MIDI File or MP3 file. This way, it is easy to recall a com- plete setup for Keyboard tracks, effects, and the Voice Processor, for realtime playing over a Standard MIDI File or MP3 file.

But how?

I think it saves pads to a style, so recalling the style recalls the pads OR
save it to a mp3 or midi file and it is saved in the songbook.
true?

PADS can be stored in SONGBOOK by WRITE CURRENT RESSOURCE

Post by TBLECK »

Hello Antoine,

Yes, you're right. PADS are internally combined / linked / connected to Styles. Pads can be synchronized with styles... !

First of all, ensure, that the PAD LOCK is in state "unlock" :-)

I dont have the actual PA2X Reference manual in English (page 187 ? / UM V2.01) but please look down to

REFERENCE Section
SONGBOOK
and then RESSOURCES
WRITE CURRENT RESSOURCE ( "W C R" )

I'm sure, that, if you have i.e. an "8 BEAT" you can chose this style, have some definitely handselected PADS A,B;C;D in your Style-Play-Mode TAB / PAD you can save this whole Resource into Songbook.
Then immedaite after that, just change the PADS to (E;F;G;H) and have the WRITE CURRENT RESSOURCE Checkbox activated, you can immediately SAVE ANOTHER PAD combination into another entry of the Songbook.
(I understood: you dont care of the Style -OK !)

With other words: In the STYLE PLAY SECTION of your PA2X USER manual V2.01 (page 95 ?) under point:

STYLE PLAY OPERATING MODE
PAD PANEL

there is an explanation that
"Note: Each Style or SongBook entry can change the Pad assignment."

(This NOTE doesnt exist in previous manuals !)

(If the checkbox in Songbook-OP-Mode W C R is enabled) , you can save the ACTUAL shown set of PADS to the Style into the songbook !

Hope this helps,

best Wishes from

true?
I think when you save the songbook entry, make sure you check "Write current resources".
That will save your Pad-settings with the songbook entry.
