Made using the Kpro and the KP3. Tell me what you think? This is a live recording as I am having trouble with exporting and sequencing my loops. Too lazy to find a solution and would rather spend that time making noise.
A more sophisticated beat is in the making. Still trying to figure out the EMX-1.
Any and all feedback RULES!
Thanks.

Thanks for the headphone warning !
Certainly has that Kaossilator sound, keep plugging away at it.
Time is the only factor that will improve your song(s).
The more you practise and experiment with your gear, the better at controlling it you will become (s**t i sound like YODA
)
I made two or three songs straight off when i started my set up.
I wouldn't post them due to the fact they were by my own standards not my best work, that's my philsophy.
But i still have them so i can go back and when the time is ready produce a song which does justice to me and my hardware. (Probably 2023!!!)
I love the notion that being your own personal project you can keep changing it indefinitely.
Get that EMX1 added.

Thanks for the input. And I was VERY reluctant to post anything at all. I'm super self conscious about just about everything. But I was bored and just wanted to test the whole posting process out.
It definitely has that KPRO sound, for sure. I'm going to leave those two gizmos alone for a week or so and focus on the EMX. It's a beast to mess with tho. Like the dynamic makes perfect sense. It's getting my synth phrases to come out right. I've also been systematically going through all the functions in the manual and trying them out on the unit just to get a better grasp on what's going on. It's difficult but rewarding. I've got a little more internet evil bidding to do and then play the rest of the night with the EMX.
Thanks again, and do expect me to be active on the forums.

Feedback
This is one of the first KP3 beats I've heard. I'm a simple rapper that learned to use the Kaossilator to make my own beats. The KP3 seems like a nice enhancement to take my game to the next level. Thanks for posting this and helping understand what it's capable of.
I'll go listen to your flows when I get done here. I used the KPRO for the beats and the KP3 for the FX. If I were you, instead of buying a KPRO I'd knock of the Korg EMX-1 and a KP3. Now that I've become more used to the EMX, the KPRO seems more and more like a fancy toy. I love it and not going to part ways with it, but I honestly see myself using the EMX 99% of the time.
The KP3 is awesome for making samples! Hands down, fantastic. Check out this triphop beat I made last night. I used the KP3 to make the intro and outro sample, and it was crazy easy. I used the YouTube downloader on my iPhone to download "Big Ballin'" by Swisha House and hooked my phone to the KP3, and recorded that sample. That was it. It can't get any easier than that, unless someone does it for you! lolz.
Check CraigsList too. I saw a Kp3 on there for like $200 or something.
Here's last nights track. It needs work, and I have three beats to go with this, including a breakdown, but still learning song mode.

Gots to be real real careful with used craigslist purchases. Problem is you aren't ensured nor do you have any buyer protection whatsoever. The KP3 has dropped in price significantly and can be found easily for under 300, brand new. If I didn't already own one, I would easily shelf out another 60-80 bucks for the peace of mind in knowing that I have a fully functioning product. Just my two cents here.Check CraigsList too. I saw a Kp3 on there for like $200 or something.
Wise words. I bought an Akai MPD32 for $150 off a CL guy in Nashville, which is 70 miles away. Met him at a Game Stop and the whole ride home I'm thinking I shoulda brought my laptop with me to test it. It worked fine. I've heard some stories though. Sold that thing for $200 btw. Hated it.

The Kpro is a great gateway drug for people not used to hardware. =P I hand it over to friends to play with and within a minute they're entranced.. another minute later and they're jamming.
Its such a fun piece of kit to just mess around on and its live looping capabilities (especially the overdub) are pretty damn good!
Once you start discovering the "sweet spots" of the synths and learn the power of the 'key' functionality it gets better and better.
I've also started using my KPro as a MIDI controller for DJing in Traktor... pad mostly for controlling effect parameters and the sample pads for triggering cue-points or samples or as 'shift' functions to use the pad to control different things depending on what pad is held while fingering her. =P adds a really eye-catching element to performances.
KPro = musical fingerpainting, anyone can do it.

Definitely a gate-way-gear drug. I feel bad because my setup for the last few weeks has been EMX to KPRO to KP3 (RCA not Mixer), but I haven't touched the KPRO in all that time. Sad. I'll make out with her tonight for old times sake. If she will have me.
Off topic but..., if any of you were thinking about buying a Monotribe, I'd say YES! I got mine on eBay for $160+$20 for the power supply (WHICH IS VERY LAME KORG BUT THANKS FOR THE INCLUDED EL CHEAPO BATTERIES!).
Unboxed it and was like omg, why'd I spend that much on this toy and how can I return it. An hour after playing with it and it'd take an AR-15 to get it out of my hands. Had some SICK wobbles going and some very cool Daft'ish higher pitched sweeps. Not a bad tax refund splurge. There's a few videos on the tube but I'll probably post a 1-2 minute track on the cloud later on tonight.
Fun fun fun. Time to get to work!

not a bad start... you definitely need to get that EMX1 learned for laying out your beats. Sync the KPro to th EMX and add in ad-lib sounds ( with the KPro) while letting the EMX run the beat and rhythm synths. and use the KP3 for tweaking it all even more.
You will find that the EMX1's groovebox style of composition will serve to free tyou up from having to run the beats while tweaking the Kpro at the same time ( I think)
Then again I am basing my knowledge off of how I run my setup ( Roland MC-909 > Access Virus b > KP3 ) same idea just different gear
you will also find that the sequencing functionality offered by your EMX will in the end make dropping your beats FAR simpler than just bangin away and making noise, and will also in the long run better suit your desire to be lazy lol..
With most Midi hardware you have hours of programming... but the end result is being able to tweak the sound and play with touch pads, knobs, and faders galore to really nail the sound you are after.
Keep at it

Thanks dude. I just followed you on soundcloud. I like your tracks.
I haven't even been using my KPRO lately. I've just been using the EMX and the KP3. I'm actually thinking about selling the KPRO on eBay to help fund an ESX or a sampler of brand and model I have yet to determine.
I have been putting off midi. If I'm water midi is oil. I had an Akai MPD32 and it took me several days and help from two people to get it to work with FL Studio. Went to use it one day and it was going to have to be mapped again, listed the bastard on eBay that night. Made $100 profit on it tho
I've read about midi but it makes little sense. Right now everything daisy chained with RCA cables. I have a Xenyx 1204 that' still in the box because I have figured out the whole midi/audio thing. Like right now I'd just prefer audio for live recording. But I want to sync my ER and EMX to finish this house track I'm almost done with. I don't understand how the slave master deal works. Guess it's time to do some more reading... Fun.
