thank you all for the nice remarks, it's very motivating for me to see that a lot of people can use the tutorials, so there will be more in the next few weeks / months. The purpose i've started the beginners tutorial series was that there is a lot to discover in the kronos and it can be quickly overwhelming. So i'm trying to show the different parts of the kronos and how you can use them creatively.

The beginners tutorials will end at tutorial 10. The next subjects i'm going to explain on a beginner level are:
- programming sounds
- and programming combis.

I'm still thinking of doing an advanced tutorial series after that. There are lots of more complex things in the kronos that are really powerful. I'm thinking of explaining things like:
- the AMS mixer to mimics special envelopes found on analog synthesisers or creating exotic LFO's.
- Creating automatic melodies on the MS20 (through the patch panel) based on a drumbeat you feed in the ms20
- timeslicing tricks for performance purposes
- Creative use of Vocoding
- Wavetable synthesis techniques
- Granulair synthesis techniques
- etc...

All these kind of subject could be explained in the advanced series which i'm still thinking of if i'm going to do this.

Qui, excuse repeating the question:
Which Kronos program was the lead synth patch from 1:50 on?

that track that i've used there was the 2nd backing track example in the tutorial. There were other synths used in that backing track. The lead synth patch at 1.50 was a custom sound i've programmed for the Roland JP8080.

but those kind of leads are also available in the korg kronos soundset i'm working on, i will post some examples of the pianos, leads and pads programs next week.

This is all very good to hear Qui. I'm very interested in the list of your "to do" videos, especially in your combi programing.
I really enjoy your ambient work. I get by with what I know, but in order to come up with a good sounding combi, it takes a little more Kronos programing know how
of getting under the hood and making the right connections, which is where I'm shallow.
Thanks again for all your work.

Ah, that explains why it didn't sound familiar to me as one of the present Kronos synth leads. I suspected you had programmed a custom patch in AL-1.

Thanks for explaining, and all the best for your sounset(s).

Grobinez:

Your list of upcoming topic looks great to me.

There's plenty of new tricks there for me in your advanced list (some of which I hadn't even contemplated attempting). I look forward to watching these :D

it's been a while since i've uploaded a tutorial, which was caused by my busy schedule (ski trip, preparation for the musikmesse, etc). But this weekend a new tutorial will be posted.

I've already recorded it but i need to edit the footage before posting it online. I will do this saturday when i return from the musikmesse. So check my channel on sunday for tutorial 07.

The topic will be: 07 Creating a program with the Polysix.
Here i will show how to create a Lead, bass and padsound with the polysix and i will give some AMS tips for bringing those sounds alive.

i've chosen the polysix for this sounddesign introduction because it's the most easy to understand synthengine in the Kronos.
