I recognized that groovy classic rhodes sound that our keyboards are oh so good at immediately!! They had the logo covered though

Snazzy vid. The keyboardist with Jeff Beck had a very similar (albeit, limited) application of the SV1 when I saw him live last fall.

in his second set on SNL it was all guys backing band! he's a wild dude!

Yea it's funny how they don't cover up the logos on the the guitar amps or guitars.

I think jack's a bit of a poser when it comes to his "authentic" image. gretsch guitars and teles, etc are okay but KORG isn't cool enough, especially with the great old vintage sound we have coming out of our units, so they covered it up. It also looks like a red 73 that's been painted gray

oh well, hopefully people who love that sound will figure out what it is

I wouldn’t be surprised if the manufacturers artists sign endorsements with are the ones not allowing other logos to show at performances. If you look for it you see a lot of tape over logos at concerts.

Shaun, you are probably dead-on! I'm sure that's what happens.

Don't get me wrong, I like Jack, although I can't say I've actually bought any of his albums and his placement in "this might get loud" with Jimmy Page and Edge kinda made me cringe in embarrassment for how weird he seemed to be "acting" for effect.

But he keeps me guessing, after reading several articles, one in TapeOp magazine made me think he's the real deal, just eccentric but real.

Who's to know. I do get the idea that he has a persona of vintage retro cool to uphold.

Actually the only instrument labels I see between the two performances are Gretsch, Fender and looks like an Ampeg bass amp, everything else must be custom jobbies or de-nameplated (like the SV-1).

I also noticed that he has three different ribbon miss in front of his three guitar amp cabs. From the TapeOp article, he's a total freak for ribbon mics!

I sure wish more people would see sets using SV-1s and wonder what is making that cool sound, then go buy them to get our market share up so that Korg might support our instruments again.

This Might get Loud was a cool documentary. First thing I watched when we got Netflix. I remember a part where they were playing a slow acoustic number and The Edge was playing a cool, subtle thing and Jack over powers him with some loud generic blues. Talk about cringe inducing.

But on the other hand, I do think Jack has an appreciation for older blues and related music. And can you blame someone in the music biz for creating an image? After all, look at the other two in that movie. One is a supposed devil worshiper and the other changed his name to “The Edge” after all!

I also think the tape over stuff is a message from musicians to manufacturers. “If you want your logo on TV, pay me.” And I guess that’s fair.

I agree completely on all accounts! Now back to playing my wonderful SV-1!

has it ever been noticed/mentioned that the SV-1 was featured numerous times on the Glee tv show?

pretty cool I can't stand the show anymore, though. same storyline over and over again. maybe once they completely recast... some of the musical productions are pretty amazing, still.

I always liked Ken Tanaka, though...the japanese guy was the old football coach.

At one point they had to 73 keys going! with the Korg logo!

Humm...I just watched the jack white video...I couldn't see any lights operating on the Sv1 ...including the tube...
Did the keyboardist "lip sync" the performance, or is it because I watched on my I-pad screen? Just curious...

As an addendum...the power cord seems to be missing as well as the output jacks...But... It still looks Cool!!!

Just watched full screen on my 27" iMac. There are 90 degree ends on the power cord, output, sustain cords visible and tucked under and into the organ underneath.

The tube light is visible during the very first pan over to jack. Helps to have a 27" LED lit LCD hi res screen!

Thanks Flyinggrace... I need to get a bigger screen...sigh...or maybe another Sv1!!!
