Hi.
Sorry if this sound like a dumb question (I'm new to all this) but, i have an amp with the double, red and white input sockets. Will i need the EMX output plug to be single(for mono) or double (for stereo)or what? I've an EMX being delivered tomorrow and i need to buy leads!
Thanks in advance for your info.

Sounds like your amp uses RCA connections (the same as old VCR connections, right?). The EMX has 1/4" outs like a guitar (I think they're just MONO plugs AKA "TS" AKA "tip-sleeve" if you want the jargon). You'll need a cable that has 2 mono 1/4" jacks with 2 RCA jacks on the other end.
SHORT ANSWER: a cable with 2 guitar jacks on one end, 2 RCA jacks on the other.

Thanks mate.....that's all i wanted to know. Yeah, the amp does have those connections......i just didn't know if i needed a double 1/4" for stereo or single 1/4" for mono.

For the MX it's MONO across the board. If you've got any questions after you've had a chance to play around with the MX, just let us know.

So even though it's mono,it needs 2 1/4" plugs?

No, if you only want mono, it only needs one plug. You can just use the left one if you're playing mono. If you want stereo, you need two plugs.

if you've got RCA to RCA cables around (most people will) then maybe buy some RCA-to-1/4 inch mono adaptor jacks. I have hundreds of these sprinkled liberally all over my studio desk cos i'm always changing cable configurations and some of my gear uses 1/4 inch (eg EMX, microkorg) and others use RCA (eg KP3, KPRO, SP404) and I don't like having to untangle a nest of cables to find the correct one.
but if you're a stickler about audio quality buy a 2X RCA to 2X mono (TS) 1/4 inch cable.
