Latest OSX 10.6.8 updates (Java & Security) block SV1 ed

Since I updated my Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.8 with the latest Java and security updates my SV1 is no longer recognised in the SV1 editor. I have tried re-installing the USB driver, the Editor software, the keyboard OS (all latest releases). No good.

Using a backup clone I made a few days ago on an external drive I loaded up my previous OS and it works fine. Any recommendations for fixing this problem, aside from the obvious - going back to my older OSX?

Thanks and regards,

Aidan

I'm using OSX 10.7.3 with it and it works just fine.

Seems like you've done the leg work trying all kinds of things. USB cables do go bad from time to time, have you tried it?

Good luck, hope you get it working!

Thanks for your kind answer. Your OS is Lion, so I guess the issue doesn't apply to you. The USB cable is fine - the editor works when I load my old system backup.

Well, I guess I can add that when I was running 10.6.8 my editor and SV-1 also ran just fine as well. I've had no interruption of service since purchasing my SV-1 from 10.6.7-10.7.3 with the latest updates.

Sorry it's not working for you.

A Korg product specialist here in Italy has answered me and kindly given me a number tips that might help solve the issue. Seems like a problem with my usb driver. I'll keep you posted...

Well, we are on OSX 10.10 now, 4+ years later, so any advice then is unlikely to be helpful.

However, I know MINECRAFT prefers an older version of Java - java 6, and I'm using that on my machine, and the SV-1 editor works for me on OSX 10.11 beta and uses the installed java 6, so here goes.

Note, java 6 is also known as java 1.6.
