I just love my ims-20 with one exception; editing drums stops the running sequencer and goes to something like 'here's one note playing, hope you like it' mode.
Now i have used a lot of different synth software since the late 80's and not one of them cuts me off of the running track to edit a sound.
If it is a technical issue, i'm sure it can be resolved, if not, then it's just very bad software design.
I'm sure that most of us using ims-20 would like to have the beat go on while we are editing drum sounds. This would open a whole world of live tweaking.
Am i alone with this?
Can we open a petition for Korg to fix this?
Comments are welcome.

Ims-20 drum edit

Hi there,
I stumbled about the same behaviour and find it pretty disturbing.
When I experimented more with the drum parts, I found even more strange behavour:
* sample and hold is not working properly: in when using noise as source, it still sounds the same, everytime a note is triggered in the sequence,
* the mod frequency scales with the note,
* higher notes are cut off quite quickly, lower notes play longer.
That only leaves me with one conclusion (which makes sense in a way..., and probably has been discuvered and possibly discussed in that forum before):
The drum parts are just playing samples, which are created with the ims20 in sound edit mode. The ims20, obviously, only has ONE full synth engine, which explains why ecerything else auto-mutes, when editing a drum sound.
Therefore, I severly doubt, that this behaviour will ever change. Probably 7 full engines would be too much for the processing power of an iOS device.
It's a pity, thought, that this is not clearly written in the documentation about the drums...
Cheers,
