PA3X Internal Clock

The PA3X has an internal clock that is used to put dates on files that are saved. The clock can be set at a Global Edit page (Global - General Controls - Clock and Battery). That page also shows the remaining charge for the RAM backup battery. I believe the clock time is maintained with the same battery when the keyboard is turned off but I am not sure. At least, the clock originally retained it's time when the keyboard was turned off.
The internal clock in my PA3X now only works while the unit is turned on. When the keyboard is switched to the standby mode, or turned off, the clock resets itself to the original production date of May 18, 2007. So, it apparently has no backup power functioning. This is the case even though the RAM backup battery shows a full charge with 139 hours remaining.
Does anyone know if there is a separate battery for the internal clock? And, secondly, is this something that can only be fixed with warranty repair?

I received and installed the replacement RAM backup battery today. It did not solve the problem with the clock.
I assume Korg is working on this issue along with the software update scheduled for the next month or so.

I was wondering if it could be realted to the model:-
Let's narrow this down just a little - are all of you on a PA3X-61?
The reason I ask is because I have a PA3X-76 and have no issues with date/clock on mine - all works fine...
This should be reported in the "Sticky" bugs list for Korg OS 1.11.
Cheers
Pete

Pete, I think you just got your PA3X is that not true? The clock in my keyboard worked for about three weeks or so. Then it became intermittent and finally just stopped working when the keyboard was switched to standby. I would assume that the internal electronics for this function should be the same for both the 61 and 76 key models.
The fact that the clock worked for a while worries me. That is not normally a software related problem . . . Several people have told me that Korg is aware of the problem and is working on it.
Would appreciate any Korg comment . . .

Hello all,
We received some new information that contrasts with a previous post we made, so I just wanted to let you know that the sample RAM backup battery does NOT regulate the internal clock. It is in fact a different battery. I apologize for any confusion.
if you're experiencing an issue with the clock, Korg does not recommend you attempting to change this battery by yourself, as this will void your keyboard's warranty. Instead, please take your Pa3X to a Korg-authorized service center.
Thanks,
-Rich
