I installed an APC backups ups 850va several years old now and have never had another issue. i think everyone should pay up for a good solid ups mine was only 79$ at the time and I don't think you need 850va if you are just running your Kronos. i also have y QSC K10 on it and have lost power and still ran for 20 minutes before I shut off all the gear. I was having fun and curious how long it would last but at 20 minutes I was thinking maybe I shouldn't let it die so i shut it all down.
I have APC's ( the large ones) for my tv and satellite box and also my wife's computer station and phone system. For myself, I went to Best Buy and bought a Cyberpower...a smaller one and they have all worked great for several years. I might need a new batter for the Cyberpower. I highly recommend using a UPS with the Kronos, just a smart move. :) :)
DennyC I am glad you responded but now I feel like an idiot. I mistyped APC, APC is what I replaced, Cyberpower from Bestbuy is what I currently have, it has been running great for almost four years.

I have the Cyberpower CP825AVRLCD that I use on stage and its worked well for me. Just ordered the Cyberpower CP850PFCLCD because it was on sale for $99. Had to replace the home studio APC ups because it died. It was old anyways. This one is pure sine wave. Guess I'll be good either way.

I had an APC for about a year and it had problems with the button and eventually also the battery died (which seems normal after some time I heard).

So for those 10 gigs I don't use UPCs anymore and so far I never had any problem (note that in the Netherlands the current/voltage is quite stable).

Bertotti, don't apologize it is an honest mistake. I could have also listed the power capacity of the Cyberpower, but it has been so rock solid, I honestly did not remember the power rating. I just grouped together the 3 or 4 synths I use and summed the need watts and went from there.

michelkeijzers, you are fortunate, because here in southern Az, the power is usually stable but not completely guaranteed 100%. I know you are a guru with software and the Kronos; but even though your power grid is quite stable, I always like to err on the side of caution. If an unexpected electrical event happened to my keyboard array and destroyed my synths...I am not sure(as I a married man) my wife would be excited about us spending thousands of dollars to replace my setup. Just saying...

The issue with power isn't the quality of the power coming out of the wall. It's all the clumsy people kicking the cable and disconnecting it from the wall. (Or somewhere between the wall and the keyboard.)

Why do keyboardists think we can dance?

Something t keep in ind for those with a UPS virtually all the UPS manufactures have a suggested timeframe for battery life and suggest changing the battery at those times. I honestly don't know a good time frame but after 5-7 years i will swap mine.

In my area the power problems are more brown out related then black out which still happens a few times a year. brownouts are terribly hard on devices or perhaps i should say when I was more in the loop this was the case. i don't know how things have changed over the last ten years in that regard.
