I have Windows 7 64bit, and never have had a problem getting the editor to work with my SV-1. I know that others have, but it is certainly possible for this combination to work.

There are updated piano sounds in the later soundpacks. Whether they are "better" or not is a matter of opinion rather than fact, but generally the opinion seems to be that the updated sounds are better.

I use Windows 7 64bit and it works fine. There's a thread here where I posted the location of a fix that allows the Editor to work. Essentially it's the same as the one for the Microkorg XL if you can find that.
