Kronos Orchestral Sounds - Advice please

Folks
I would appreciated some honest feedback.
I play a lot of individual and ensemble orchestral sounds in a live situation. I currently use a Fantom X8 with SRX cards for strings and orchestral, and it's fair to say that I have always been pretty happy with the Fantom for that. I have many splits and layers going on in some of the patches and so the 16 part capability in the Fantoms's Performance mode (which is the equivalent of the Kronos Combi mode) is a must have for me.
Where the Fantom is less impressive , IMHO, is on Piano, EP, organ and electric guitar which are sounds I also use quite a bit.
Also, I only have 4 assignable rotary knobs to control the parts of the Performance so you can only effectively control a one bank of 4 sounds at a time which is a bit limiting.
So , to cut to the chase. I've had my eye on the Kronos for quite some time and now they seem to have sorted out the keybed issue, I am seriously thinking of switching to it. However, there are not many online demos or you tube clips that give me a good feel for the orchestral sounds. I've have of course played the kronos on 3 or 4 occasions and whilst I was knocked out with a lot of the sounds, I can't say I was overly impressed with the strings and orchestral side of things.
In the past, when I have switched, I always seem to thnk that the strings aren't as good as what I had before , and then of course I get used to them and get to like them, so maybe I need to give Kronos time for me to get used to the sounds.
For those of you who have played their kronos in, particularly any Fantom switchers, I'd really appreciate your honest views on whether the strings and orchestral sounds are up there with the best around.
Regards
Jeremy
