Korg Kronos Tutorial: 08 Using Existing KARMA Modules

This tutorial explains how to you can use any of the 1000's of existing KARMA modules that are programmed by other sounddesigners for you own sounds or combis.

Even if you don't have any experience with programming KARMA then the Kronos has functions which you can use for copying existing KARMA patterns that you like from other programs.

This is an extremely powerful feature when you create or modify programs and combis yourself. This way you can use any of the 1000's of preprogrammed patterns by others in your own sounds.

And the best part: IT'S VERY EASY TO DO !!!

based on the remarks of another thread, you could see this KARMA Copy workflow as a way of using other programmers KARMA implementations as a starting preset for youw own KARMA pattern programming. When copying a KARMA module the result will always be the same starting point in your own combi or program

When you use the KARMA patterns from my own AnalogHypnotics soundset you will have 32 * 8 scenes Karma patterns to get you started.

For instance, when you want a basic arp up arpeggiator you only have to copy the KARMA module from the Heat Wave ARP QR program.

Wow, really nice and simple to use feature which allows for a great deal of creativity! Very nice and clear tutorial--I had been very hesitant to even venture into this KARMA world, but I think I'll start exploring now.

Qui, how about an update as to your next plans for us lucky Kronos-followers:
Any new soundsets on the way???
Do you have an idea of what your next tutorial is going to be? Or will you be doing an informal poll again?

The next soundset will be based on the HD1 where almost every patch uses the Vector automation possibilities. This will be available around august, because i've noticed that the timeframe between the previous soundsets was to short for most people (based on the number of downloads and remarks), so that made me decide to postpone the next soundset to august to spread the things a little bit and give everyone the change to use the current sounds.

Now the same applies for the tutorials, there are 3 tutorials planned by me in the following order:

- tutorial 09: Ipad integration with the Kronos
This tutorial shows several apps that are useful when you use an ipad with the kronos. Also it shows how to setup the kronos to make full use of it ranging from recording / sampling to using ipad Arpeggiators in combination with sounds in combis and simultanously using KARMA

- tutorial 10: Introduction to programming sounds
This tutorial shows how create a pad sound, a bass sound and a lead sound by using the Polysix engine (also explaines the terminology and some basic synth design features). I'm still considering if i'm going to include the MS20 and the patch panel in this tutorial, but probably i won't do that because that one is harder to explain in the beginners series

the last tutorial for beginners will be:
- tutorial 11: Introduction to building combis
This tutorial shows how to create your own combis. There will be an example of a split keyboard combi, where the left zone of the keyboard plays the karma modules and the right zone will be assigned to a lead sound. So you can create your own keyboard style combis

I will post the next tutorial when the current tutorials reach a certain amount of viewers. I'm always watching responses and views to get a feeling of what people appreciate and what not. It makes no sense to create numerous tutorials when they aren't interesting for people, so that's why it sometimes takes a little bit longer.

But the three tutorials mentioned above will be available in the next 2 months.
