KORG Electribe SX CLOCK DRIFTING

Post by Marko1973 »

HI,
I have problem with mu KORG Electribe because it has small variations in tempo which are visible when I record beat in Pro Tools. The waveforms of kicks, snares, etc... are impossible to get on grid because they randomly appear. Those variations are small, but still it is a problem when i want something to quantize. Electribe is not MIDI synced to Pro Tools, and swing mode is OFF.
It was the same problem when it was MIDI connected with Pro Tools either as a MASTER or SLAVE.
Can you please HELP me with this problem, because it drives me crazy and I suspect that internal clock of ELECTRIBE is not working properly.
I have recorded beats from other gear and they ALL ALIGN PERFECTLY ON GRID except my little KORG. :?

The solution is to MIDI sync with your DAW. That is normal for recording temp- based sequenced stuff, because hardware clocks can differ slightly.

I have MIDI synced Electribe with my DAW, but the problem is still the same...Sounds (waveforms) from Electribe are CONSTANTLY SLIGHTLY OFF THE GRID; before and ahead and it is random...I have tried everything DAW as a MASTER, ELECTRIBE as a MASTER and it is always the same.It is fine for 4 BARS and then BEAT become slightly OFF. It is not happening with sounds being recorded from other hardware stuff.

I hate people who give unprecise answers, but there are various syncing problems between daws and electribes which never will be solved.

Therefore, I assume that your problem will not be solved either, due to the fact that electribes and software constantly produce various issues.

yo i have this same problem and it messed me up for a long time, until i just said f it and started re-aligning the loops i sample/record off the electribe with ableton, its totally time consuming but its the only thing ive found to work it out. i tried playing with all kinds of buffer settings and stuff, syncing to daw, not syncing to daw.. you can get it close, you can make stuff sound like it loops without doing some re-align work but it is what it is...
cut to a few weeks ago where i was planning a ableton/emx set and there was too much lag using ableton as the master tempo so i set the EMX as the master tempo, well for whatever reason when you play a beat on the EMX it actually uses a different BPM number like every hit within about +/-5 of your setting. so i guess its kinda like the machines own little swing or something, maybe done on purpose or maybe its something w circuits i dont know about. when you play a beat on the emx you dont hear it but if you record yourself in a daw and overdub or look at the grid you hear/see it.
final result for me was just fixing it with ableton, its time consuming but will give you the results.

ps def anyone let me know if they have a different way
