MIDI with Kord D-3200

I am using the Korg D-3200 at home. I have a Yamaha electric drum kit that only has a left and right output. So, when mixing, all your drums are on 2 tracks with little room for beefing up the tone of each drum.
The Yamaha and the Korg both have MIDI capabilities. Can I bring MIDI out of the drum processor to the Korg and separate each drum onto a virtual or real track this way? Or, would I be better served by buying a new processor for the kit that has individual outs for each drum pad?
