KP3 - two line inputs at a time

I am curious - can i use two of these (http://dx.com/p/composite-av-cable-1-to-2-splitter-2711) to double the audio input in KP3? I have KOPro and electribe and I want them both running into KP3 at the same time. Is that possible or I will damage the KP3? Thanks for answers

No. Never try to use splitter cables as merger cables. There's no such thing as a merger cable. It will actually *sort of* work but in reality you'll be sending weird signals around your setup, creating interference and noise and potentially phase cancellation -- and yes you risk damaging equipment if the signal levels get too high.

If you want more than one input into your KP3, you need some sort of small line mixer.

Ok, thanks for input. I don´t want another mixer (I have XENYX 1002FX at the end of chain), so I ordered line selector (http://dx.com/p/audio-visual-av-3-to-1- ... witch-2668), hope that it will work.

Hmm... well, that will work to SWITCH between inputs for the KP3, but it won't merge multiple inputs together. You'll still be stuck with one device at a time playing through the KP3.

You should look at something like XENYX502 or the MX802A -- i know you might not want a second mixer but that really is the only option. All you REALLY need is a passive line mixer, so you might be able to find something even cheaper than those.

Of course, simplest solution might just be to go Electribe --> KPro --> KP3. Not sure what the KPro does to the incoming audio signal but I assume that would work.

one of these would work for a passive mixer...

I also recall another company making a powered line/mic mixer roughly the same size just a few short years ago. can't remember who it was though... :?

I know it´s just a switch but:
I also have the small kaossilator running through the KOPro and I want to use it that way also sharing the input to KOPro with my Ashbory bass guitar (the second switch which I have orderes :) )
I thought I could run the electribe to the KP3 through the 3/4 outputs and run the main output directly into the mixer
the switch seems for me as an cheapest way to utilize maximum potential from all my korg boxes

Yah I mean, as long as you're happy only being able to run one thing at a time through the KP3, that'll work fine.

The other thing you can do is use the Aux. Send channel on the mixer (the FX models still have that, right?) and then you can send all your stuff through the KP3 - but it will always be a blend of the clean signal and the processed signal, because (if i recall correctly) the Xenyx channel sends are post-fader... Also the disadvantage there is that you lose stereo.
