I am trying to get a sample to play by just triggering it from a note. It lasts 15 seconds and I want to just press the note and let it run. I've done this in the past but I am pulling my hair out trying to get it to work again.
Anyone got any ideas?

Easiest way is to put it in a drumkit. Those are all fire-and-forget samples. You also get the possibility to mute/choke it with another key.
