Can we change midi channels while playing a song in setlist?

Post by DrpC »

Hello, mates. Hope everyone is having a great day. :D

Quick question please...
Is it possible to change/switch midi channels while playing a song from the setlist mode ?

Trying to sample a couple of instruments while looping several tracks in the background from the setlist (live playing).
It would be very helpful if I could change/switch to a different instrument at the same time (I do understand you can do this from the sequencer mode).

Thanks in advance for all your assistance and support! :P

You can't do this from seq mode but you can from setlist mode; make multiple slots with the same song and specify your "active track". The song will keep playing as you flick through them.

Hi, SanderXpander.
Thank you so much for your response. :D

Just so I understand, the " Active Track " would have be selected upon saving to the setlist ?
I guess I'm trying to confirm how to set an active track and is the " active track " the midi track itself ?

I do appreciate all your help on this!
Thanks mate :P

Just load up duplicates of the song in a setlist, there should be an option to choose which midi channel to transmit to; 'keyboard track' or somesuch. You can switch between the slots and the song will keep playing.

Simply Brilliant, Mates. :D

Thank you so much to SanderXpander & Scatter!!!

I actually found where to change the " Active Tracks ".
  • You can edit the set list song itself and at the top you are able to change the track number
Woohoo!!! 8)

In fact,
I actually don't even need to add multiple slots of the same song because I'm just sampling them to see how the instruments sound prior to laying down the tracks itself.
(Get better control and EQ this way than in sequencer mode).

Thanks again mates, you've been extremely helpful!!!
Here's to a wonderful weekend for everyone.
Cheers :P
