Backup OS Ver 1.11

Shame on me, I am still on OS v.1.11.
I want to upgrade to new OS but
I'd like to have a chance to go back
to the previous version - just in case.
And the OS v1.11 is no longer available on korgpa.com.
Is it possible to backup the OS from the keyboard?

MEDIA - UTILITY - FULL RESOURCE BACKUP and/or depending on how much want.....
MEDIA - SAVE - ALL (or you can when in this save menu, open the ALL FOLDER and selectively choose what you want to save.)
Using the save function creates a .SET file from which you can selectively restore various sections only. This method means you only reload those sections you want
With the FULL RESOURCE BACKUP it creates a .BKP file from which you can
only do a full restore backup which over-writes everything.
Hope that helps

Does it save the OS?
I mean will I be able to restore OS1.11 from
this FULL RESOURCE BACKUP?

No, you need to load the OS 1.11 first, then load the .bkp file. You can also use the factory restore if you wish, but this returns the keyboard to the factory default of the corresponding OS, again, it does not load the OS.
The OS and the Resources are two different systems really..and are therefore required to be executed separately and in different ways.
For example to do the OS you hold Intro 1 while turning on, and for resources you hold Intro 3 and power on.
So if you always look at them as two distinctly different backups, and remember to load back in sequence you will not have any issues.
Although why you want to worry about saving OS 1.11 is beyond me???
Once the OS (1.5) is loaded, apart from sorting possible data corruption in the OS operation, it need never be installed again. But you can go back and do Resource backup restores as much as you want..
My recommended method for OS 1.5 is:
1. Do a SAVE ALL of all your personal data
2. Run the OS 1.5 installer
3. Run the OS 1.5 Factory Resources
4. Then restore back from your previous SAVE ALL file, all those parts - like global, songbook, mic settings, performances etc etc...
5. Then finally do a new Full Resource Backup

Thanks for quick response.
So now I know that if I upgrade to OS1.5
I have no chance to go back to previous OS,
because it is no longer on korgpa.com website.
Has anybody saved the OS1.11 file?

Miden,
miden wrote:MEDIA - UTILITY - FULL RESOURCE BACKUP
Please keep in mind this only saves Musical Resources, not the OS.
We removed the opportunity to save the OS long ago, since we don't want anybody to use an outdated system that can cause compatibility issues, and leave unresolved bugs around.
Best regards,
Paolo

Hi Dennis
With reference to your comment:-
I already said that Paolo...refer above

in fact I NEVER said at all that it saves the OS.....unlike you to miss something so obvious
In fairness michagi asked
Is it possible to backup the OS from the keyboard?
And you immediately responded with:-
MEDIA - UTILITY - FULL RESOURCE BACKUP and/or depending on how much want.....
I believe Paolo thought (as I did) that it could have been misinterpreted by michagi as being an answer to his question....
Cheers
Pete
