I have just bought a Korg padkontrol, love it to bits.

Take a look and you will see that the guy plays a few samples on the padkontrol and then somehow these are instantly turned into a loop and continue to play as a loop. So he is able to create loops of what he has just played on the fly. I would love to be able to do this

Anyone have any idea how he is doing this?

just sounds like he's recording / overdubbing a loop. 'overdubbing' is basically when you have your loop playing and recording at the same time, so the new sounds that you play get recorded and added into the loop as you go.

so i guess you'd just need an audio app or a VST that has that capability. it says he's using protools, but i'm not familiar with it. i know ableton live 8 comes with a looper effect. here are a couple lists of hardware and software loopers and plugins, but not sure how current they are. you could also try a google search for something like 'live loop sampler' or 'free looping software'.
