Fb01 conversions

I know this might be off-topic, but I wasn't sure what the best forum to put it in was, I recently got an Fb01 and have been experimenting with using sysex files on it, and it gave me the idea to try to convert sega genesis instruments into fb01 usable files. I tried converting VOPM (.opm) and (.y12) files into sysex, and they were converted, only issue is they wouldn't open in my Fb01 so I was confused. I would like to know what the best way to do this is, because the way I have tried has not worked.

Any help?

You're right. The best place for this is somewhere like General Synths / Keyboards.

Info.

Yamaha FBO1 is a 4-op, sine only, synth engine compatible with the DX-100, whose engine was used in some gaming systems and computer sound cards released around the same time.

Follow-on models like DX-27 had a 4-op basis, but added capability of using several non-sine (e.g. sqaure, saw, tri) waves as operators as well.

The two, though both 4-op FM, are not compatible.

I have no knowledge about the Sega Genesis voice structure.

The sega genesis is all sine waves, and has a very similar structure, however two variables are different on the sega, they are represented by different letters and stuff. Currently, I can use VOPM to open sega genesis instruments, so I suppose I could try to copy those into the editor, but the symbols are hard to differentiate, making it difficult.
