Since the krome has drag and drop functionality on the sequencer. Would it be possible to apply that to the virtual knobs on the synth interfaces in the kronos?

I think it would be better than using the value slider to turn knobs. If anyone at korg is listening and this feature would be dope.

That would be pretty cool, especially for making coarse adjustments. But for fineradjustments, the value slider probably provides more control.

IMHO it wont happen.
My advise is that you better dont wait any other 'big' upgrade with new features.

From now on there will only be bug fixes and minor tweaks, nothing else.

I hope time prove me wrong, but you better asume it. It will be easier that way

IMHO it wont happen.
My advise is that you better dont wait any other 'big' upgrade with new features.

Well, it's already by FAR the best workstation, so...their losing that would assume Roland or Yammy or Nord make a better sounding board...

You talk about 'sound', we talk about workstation. About sound, I agree with you.

Well, what's a workstation but three components:

Sounds
MIDI Sequencer
Audio recorder

The Kronos has the best best sounds...and I don't know of another that gives you 16 tracks of audio with a HD to record them to, or the ability to FTP tracks or mixes to a computer or burn a CD directly from the unit.

So, all it lacks is the "best" midi sequencer. Which, I guess having worked in software for that for like a quarter century--I've never understood hardware sequencers' appeal. What, other than visual piano roll editing do you think it lacks? Compared to hardware sequencers-not soft. There's no comparison to good software (ie Cubase/DP/Logic/etc).

What aspects/functions are in other hardware that you envy?

The Kronos has no hardware sequencer. It´s not analog like the SQ-10.



It´s pure software. So I expect to find a sequencer that is comparable with my iPads Nanostudio or Genome.

You stick to much to the things of the past. And so do Korg, Roland and Yamaha. (Or is this red hering argument not an accident?)

If they don´t improve their products they will be obsolete and insolvent in a few years.

I hardly think so.

Most people who want a full featured sequencer have it in their DAW already. I've never felt shortsheeted by the KORG sequencers. You should sequence something on a Kurzweil if you want to cry about a bare bones application...

I know you're judging this based on the OASYS history. I say it's highly possible, especially after NAMM. There is a much larger user base that makes such an upgrade worth Korg's while. Not to mention, I'd be shocked if Yamaha didn't have something pretty mind blowing lined up for this year. Rumor has it there was a successor to the Motif years ago but never released because there was no need to due to lack of competition. Roland was the most behind and that's why we have the Jupiter-80 and recently the Integra-7. My bet is Yamaha will have a new workstation with modeling (essentially an EX-5 done right and expanded) this NAMM. Generally it is cheaper to add features to a software based product then to start ground up. Especially if you consider hardware design! If Korg implements most of the features on the wishlist (most of which should be doable) the Kronos will remain competitive and perhaps even top-dog for 2-3 years more. A no brainer if you ask me!
