I have a problem with my SV1 which will probably mean me returning it.

Here's what happens.

I'm using it as a controller keyboard, with 'local off'. I send midi to my DAW, which sends it back to the SV1, where it triggers the sound, which I then send back to the DAW.

(I do it this way because I like edit the midi but keep the sound on the SV1).

So I'm using the SV1 as both a controller keyboard and sound source.

SV1 (via midi) -> DAW (via midi) -> SV1 (via audio) -> DAW

It works fine for while and then all hell breaks loose. The SV1 starts muddling up its midi notes, and playing out of tune. Suddenly the part sounds like a cat jumping on the keyboard.

If I turn off 'local off' at this point, and play it normally, same thing. Completely unplayable, garbage.

If I switch to another preset and switch back, it's fine, and I can continue.

This isn't restricted to any one patch... it seems to happen in all the ones I've used this way.

This is a dealbreaker for me as my main use for it is as a controller.

Anyone ever seen anything like this?

Did you ever get to the bottom of this?

I am experiencing the same problem.

Just tried a factory reset and that doesn't appear to have solved the problem.

I can relate to your MIDI woes! I had similar issues with MIDI when I struggled with owning THREE SV-1s!!! Thought switching them out would solve the problem, but it didn't. Notes would freak out randomly, and sometimes the keyboard would just freeze up. Another annoying issue was that the RX noises would jump to max volume every time I hit "play" on my DAW. I would manually return them to normal levels, but the minute I hit play, they shot up to max again! Very frustrating. I no longer own my SV. It's a shame because it truly is an inspirational instrument, and I loved the hands on navigation. Just too many quirks. Cons outweighed the pros. I'm hoping for an SV-2 that will hopefully address all the issues that pop up on these forums. Fingers crossed...
