Kaossilator Pro-noise issue at end of loops

Hello everyone, I have a new Kaossilator Pro. I love this device and am amazed at it's deep potential.

I am concerned about one very critical issue though; when I record a loop there is a very distinct popping noise that occurs at the end of the phrase. Every time I lift my finger from the pad or stop recording this noise occurs.

My apologies if this issue has already been addressed. I searched for the first twenty or so pages and finally thought I'd give this a shot. My thanks in advance for any input.

I had this issue with my kO pro. there is no solution to it. It gets worse when you change the loop length go do a roll then put it back to normal.

I posted here 2 years ago and someone flamed me saying that it didnt exist.

I sold the unit as it was morehassle than it was worth

Wow that sucks someone gets flamed for pointing out a very important issue.

The one thing about the KoPro is that the loop recorder function is very sensitive! Hell you'd think that there was a mic or pickup attached to this thing grabbing every nuance and every hum in your recording environment.

First off make sure where ever you are working with the KO that all of your cables are clear of any interference. Paying attention to this simple basic recording class lesson made the difference between noise and no noise for me.

Gating pops/clicks...there is no way around that and is part of any device or software. If you ware messing with the gate speed a lot get ready for more noise. What happens is the speed is over lapping and trying to catch up with your movements and it creates glitches. There are really only 11 specific positions on the slider, there are no in between speeds.
Gate timing is not as problematic because that function is just fading in the mix of the sound with the actual gating.

Actual loop recording: even if you accidentally hit one of the other bank buttons it will get recorded...I'm not just talking about actual sound that your messing with but just the sound of a button being depressed and then stopped. It seems that when punching in...there is no problem but punching out that's when when you get that extra bump sound you can sorta hear. My work around for this has always to record a little over that area (lowering the source volume) and that covers that nicely. Another way around this is to use the 'Record' button which lights up all the banks red, choose your bank then when you are done, don't punch out from the bank but stop the bank from recording by hitting the 'Record' button again...it's a little quieter.

The final bit about noise and the loop recorder on the KO...a lot of people get flamed over this... you have to understand that the KO is NOT an automatic looper. If you suck at timing in regards to live looping and live sampling then the KO is going to expose that. You have to practice your timing. Poor timing comes out in the KO loop recorder as sound glitches. There is no auto quantize on this device...YOU are the quantize device.
So practice, practice, practice...Also make sure you chose the right loop length to match with your own timing.

I hope all of what I said helps. Good luck and have fun.

Thank you very much for your responses! SMK, thank you for your advice. I will most certainly try the solutions you have offered this weekend and I will post my results as soon as I can.

Really old post... I don't know of anyone else that figured out this problem yet.
Never had this problem before, until today. More than two years after I bought my Kaossilator Pro+... the noise is generated on the time 1 (not at the end, but just at the beginning of the loop)... it's certainly not the same as when you have done a bad loop (regarding the timing)... but seems to be a problem with the unit itself.
Some body know about any Repair service of Korg???

Digging deeply into the problem, I realize that the problem disappears (momentarily) when you change some things on the Function settings... on [6] UTILITY, you can change SYNC to off... and what it does, is (for a while) avoid the click noise/glitch... however, the problem comeback every time you change the tempo where you're working with... this probably because, as the manual specified "if you change the length of the phrase or if you change the BPM, the recorder will automatically function as if SYNC were on"
That's all that I have... I'm freaking out with this issue. Large part of my sound on my band comes primarily from my Kaossilator pro+
