When I power on my K61, I sometimes have to jiggle the cable connected to either the left or right input in order to get both inputs working properly. (full stereo sound). This also affects the headphone jack.

Now today, I was trying to sample my old trusty MKS20, ep8, and I noticed the same problem. Also, input 1 doesn't seem to work at all.

Has anyone experienced similar problems? I'm sure a trip to my local service center is in order.

Well, I'm ecstatic! I fixed my own keyboard. I removed the back, checked the area of the inputs, removed the midi board to get a better look, and underneath the midi board I found a connector that was not seated properly. I pushed it in, re-assembled the keyboard, plugged it back in, and, voila, everything worked perfectly.

Now I need to figure out how to sample my synth. Wouldn't mind some help.

congratulations! Hope you did not void your warranty. as far as sampling goes, search the operations guide. There are some specific procedures in there for what you were trying to do.

Thanks ronnfigg. Actually, I've done some sampling before. I've imported some wave files and also some sf2 files, and this is really not much different. I was finally able to create a ms program from my mks 20, but I'm going to do it right and create a program with two or three velocities.

As far as the warranty, I bought it used, so no warranty.

just curious but how would Korg be able to tell that he even tightened the loose connection, is there a seal that breaks when you open your board? I want to upgrade my ram and add a SSD but I can't even really afford a Kronos in the first place let alone pay to have someone else do an easy installation(I come from a background in IT Management/Electronic engineering so I cam very comfortable with such a simple upgrade) but I also like having the two year warranty from Korg?

I should have taken a picture while I was in there, but I didn't think about it. I'll describe it as best as I can. The midi in and out circuit board is located on top of the audio input board. If I had not removed the midi board, I would not have spotted the loose connector on the audio input board. It is a white connector, possibly 8 or 9 pin. It is labeled something like "all audio-l&r ins". I just pushed it in.

that really does not seem like it would void any warranty, I have had that sort of thing happen with plenty of computers/music gear ESPECIALLY older Akai rack samplers.. sometimes stuff comes unplugged in transit

Other points of interest.

There are no seals in a Kronos,so,if one takes adequate precautions,static prevention etc and are careful,no one will ever know if the unit has been opened.

Anyway,I have been informed that Korg do not mind too much if owners open up their units,as long as no damage is caused and indicate the warranty remains intact.
(It will be at their discretion,though......whatever that really means).
