Great service from them. it was back ordered and was expecting to ship only today. but it was shipped a week earlier. I am glad about that.
Some early feel about the KB.
*It is overall smaller compared to PA500ORT I had.
*Build quality is about the same, all plastic as expected. Feels solid enough for the money I paid.
*Very light in terms of weight.
*The sides are shiny. so will most likely scratch!
*600 has usb out instead of the sd card that 500 had.
*power button is on the top, instead of in the back as 500. I like this.
*just wish it had the headphone jack in the front.
*joystick is similar to other newer KBs. that is good.
*buttons need a bit more harder press than 500. just different. I dont know if it is a good thing or bad thing.
*the touch screen is a lot bigger than 500.
*the response of the touch screen is a lot better than 500. it is responding to normal touch 500, I had to press hard many times. 600 responds to normal touch.
*screen is good. readable.
*resolution is not very great. it is okay... I guess all the new touch devices are spoiling us, and everyone expects like the retina display
not expecting fantastic display on a $1000 KB. for the prices, it is good.*not gotten used to the new control layout. I prefer the old 500 layout. I am sure I will learn the new one in few days. at the moment I am still looking to find how to do things. I did not have that problem when I got the 500.
*Styles and sounds are good. I did not have a KB with korg DNC before. so I am loving the new sounds.
*QT does have 3 banks of new styles and several banks of sounds!
*an additional 4 sheets were included in the manual for QT to show the new styles and sounds.
*so for the $200 more, I did not just get few etc buttons, it does have some oriental styles and sounds. liking it.(wasn’t sure about this until I got it. Even KORG cust services wasn’t sure what is in it!)
*Sounds are rearranged in the banks a bit. so looking for my fav sounds at the moment. need to find and edit them...
looking forward to lot of fun in coming days.
Overall, happy to report that I am glad I got this. and also thankful to KORG for giving all these features in an entry KB arranger.
