So, anyone want to share some insights/thoughts on this? I'm actually considerin another KaossPad (have the MiniKP, MiniKP2 & the Quad), but not sure whether to go for another MiniKP2, or th KP3+. Specifically I'd like to know if there are any new sample mangling functionality.

The KP3+ is identical in every way to the regular KP3 besides new Programs. Once you sample something on the KP3, you hold shift and the sample button and can then use the 8 program buttons to chop up the sample as you like.

Ok, thanks for the input. I think I'll probably go with another MiniKP2 instead

Ah Hugo I didn't think about what you were asking here.

You know this question is something I have been asking my self recently because I'm thinking I really need a another stereo effects processor.

The Kaoss Pad it the best in the business. But out of those choices the issue that really makes my final choice is about midi. And honestly you want that midi connection because it imporves the quality of the sound when running another KP with another KP. So to me it only makes sense to just bite the bullet and get the new KP3+

mini KP2 has problems and no midi = toy

the Quad,I really wanted this device, again no midi. = no go

Also on the Quad I have a gut feeling that there will be an upgrade version of the quad that will make it a proper KP4. I was disappointed when the monotribe came out after I got the Monotron...last time I ever buy 'TESTWARE'.

Yes, SMK, midi is definately a big plus. Also, I would really like to have the Pad Motion function, this is actually more important to me than midi (my iPad works well for this purpose). I must do some serious thinking here.

it appears theyve upgraded the sd jack to sdhc too, so, maybe, the writting speed is faster now (which means a quicker loading time for presets?). all hypothetically speaking

That would be a plus. How fast is loading on the original KP3?

it looks like it takes around 8 sec, and the KP3 goes off, you can't use it while loading. another advantage i saw is that the KP3+ is 9v, whereas the KP3 is 12v. but as far as i understand (very little), the more voltage you have the higher headroom you get. could it be that the KP3+ has less headroom than the older one? im quite sure korg took care of this, but still

If KP3+ has the same power adapter as KP Quad, than it's bad (i like KP3's more - it consists of 2 parts)

Tried to find pics for comparison and found out that american adapters for KP3 and Quad are in identical formfactor with different voltage.

European adapter for Quad looks like american - something like http://www.recordcase.de/pt/DAP-Audio+P ... rol+D2.htm

For KP3 european adapter looks this way - http://www.popscreen.com/p/MTMyMzk0MjQ3 ... 155mm-eBay

these are just 'brick' or 'bulk'/'wallwart' adapters;) you can have both in any voltage, though it's more common to see them on higher voltages (9v upwards)

the only difference between them is where the circuit lies; in the bulk it stays directly in connection with the plug, in the brick type you have a long cord until the current finds the circuit in the brick (it's easier for plugging it, since bulk adapters take nearby plug slots, hence the name)

I know I can not start recording a sample on my Kp3 with a foot controller like for instance FCB 1010.

Can someone please tell me if it is possible with the KP3+?
If so, can you also arm the next sample for recording with the foot pedal?

KP3+ improved a lot the LFO filters and loopers. It looks like the fader works better too but that might be because my old ones were damaged. I did a demo gig last week at Sound-In Festival (Madrid) with the new KP3+ and Kaossilator Pro +
Kaossilator Pro + adds some badass new samples too.

Hi Rul, that was very cool, indeed :-D
