OK folks - I know this is probably a simple one but can someone tell me how to set up a patch to play and hold (not in arpeggiator mode)? I looked all through the menu and can't seem to find any parameter that will allow me to do this. Thanks

It's easy. Set the Release parameter (knob 4) to the maximum value 127 for the Amp envelope.

This is as close as you can get without using the arpeggiator, however it does fade away eventually.

Tape the key down. I've seen ms20 owners do this.

A thin pencil placed between the held-down key and under the lip of the other keys is another way of doing this without getting the keys sticky.

Drive your microKorg via MIDI form another keyboard that has a sustain pedal input

Tragic and ridiculous situation.
Such a great synth lacking sustain pedal and tap tempo.
It is a serious design limitation.

Fortunately, Korg did fix this design problem about 5 years ago with their first replacement for the Microkorg - AKA, the R3.

The MicroKorg XL(XL+) is a cutdown version of the R3, and one of the features that was cut was the assignable expression pedal and footswitch connectors.
